March at Torbay Scrapstore: Springing into Action (and Hiding the Chocolate)
Is it just us, or has February been less “winter wonderland” and more “underwater kingdom”? After a month of rain so relentless we’ve nearly traded our knitting needles for oars, we are officially ready to dry off. We’re shaking off the damp patches with a March schedule so packed you’ll need a bigger craft bag. Whether you’re a seasoned “pro-maker” or your current creative peak is successfully opening a tin of biscuits without breaking a nail, there’s a cuppa and a craft with your name on it.
Check out the flyers for the full gossip, but here’s a nibble of what’s coming up:
The Main Event: General Workshops & Creative Capers
We’ve got a smashing lineup to keep your fingers busy and your mind off the puddles. Our Scrap Book Club is running three times this month for those who have a mountain of photos and a “one day I’ll do it” attitude. The lovely Jal is hosting a Beading Workshop to help you sparkle, and we’ve even got a Slow Stitch Square session for some mindful needlework.
With Easter looming, we’re getting properly festive. You can try Needle Felting a bunny (hopefully less “Frankenstein,” more “Flopsy”), Macrame an Easter Egg or sew a pretty Cream Egg holder—essential for protecting your stash from the kids! If you’re feeling fancy, we’ve got a Watercolour Easter Workshop with Seaview Studios, a teeny-tiny Miniature Potting Shed build and a Reverse Patching session to save those jeans you can’t bear to bin.
Make & Mingle: For the 65+
Our Make & Mingle sessions are the best excuse to get out of the house and have a proper chinwag. These sessions are completely free for anyone aged 65 or over. It’s all about supportive vibes and trying things like Foam Marbling, Cyanotype Effect Printing, Mono Printing and exploring different Colouring Techniques.
We’ll also be Decorating Clay Pots (the ones we made in a previous session!), trying our hand at Reverse Patching to customise our clothes and—because you can never have too much egg-related storage—sewing pretty Cream Egg holders. It’s the perfect antidote to a quiet afternoon and much more fun than doing the housework.
The Important Bits: Most of our general workshops include barista coffee and cake, because let’s face it, the only drizzle we can face right now is the lemon kind. Spaces vanish faster than a chocolate egg on Easter morning, so don’t dawdle!

Watercolour Easter Workshop
Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 | 7pm – 9pm
If the only thing you’ve painted lately is a radiator, don’t panic! The lovely lot from Seaview Studios are joining us for a night of joyful, splashy creativity. Forget moody landscapes; we’re diving into bright, Easter-themed cards that’ll make your postman’s day.
We’ll be playing with watercolour pencils, trying out taped-off designs (the secret to looking like a pro without the stress), and other “cheats” to create gorgeous, handmade cards. It’s a wonderfully relaxed, hands-on session where you’ll be guided through every step—perfect for beginners or anyone who just wants to grow their skills in good company.
Come and craft something charming for your loved ones, or just come for the peace and quiet!
All materials provided.
Price: £24 per person.
