These craft workshops & events took place in August 2025. Check our current calendar for upcoming dates and availability.
This August, we’re turning up the heat with a fantastic lineup of workshops to keep your creative spirit burning!
Create wearable art by making unique wet felted earrings, or add a touch of charm to any outfit with Suffolk puff brooches and scrap fabric necklaces. For those who love to stitch, we have workshops on slow stitching and long and short stitch scenery art, along with the chance to make a delightful scrappy fabric bird.
You can also celebrate the seaside with a vibrant fabric art collage or give old items new life by upcycling pots with fabric scraps. And if you’re a fan of fiber art, you can learn to create beautiful crochet flowers or get into the cozy spirit early with adorable needle felt pumpkins.
Our friends at Seaview Studios are also back with two more workshops this month! You can master the art of pyrography or design your own personalized fused glass fridge magnet or suncatcher.

How It Works
**How to Apply for a Workshop**
To sign up for a specific workshop, simply follow the instructions detailed below.
For our own “Create & Connect” workshops and multi-part craft courses, this normally means calling us on 01803 392436 or visiting us in-store to book. We’ll take your details and arrange payment.
For workshops led by external providers, please follow the booking procedures specified. For example, workshops run by Seaview Studios will include a link that takes you to their own booking page. They will take responsibility for managing your booking and taking payment.
Note: Please make sure you can meet the course requirements with regard to:
- Any equipment you may need to provide yourself
- The dates you will need to be available

Introduction To Pyrography
Wednesday, August 13th, 2025 | 7pm – 9pm
Join our beginner-friendly workshop and discover the captivating art of pyrography. Using a heated tool, you’ll learn to etch beautiful designs into wood, creating a unique and personal keepsake box. Whether you bring your own design or choose one of ours, this is the perfect way to learn the basics of wood burning and create something truly special. No experience is needed to join in the fun!

Fused Glass Seaside Sun Catcher & Fridge Magnets
Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 | 7pm – 9pm
In this special Seaview Studios workshop, you’ll learn the mesmerizing art of fused glass. Create beautiful, one-of-a-kind seaside-inspired suncatchers and fridge magnets using all the materials you need.
No experience is necessary to design your own sparkling masterpieces, which will be fired in a kiln and ready for you to collect at Torbay Scrapstore in about two weeks.
Price: £22 per person.
